My DA repair. . .and improvements. . .
ok, just thought i'd keep you all posted on the project. . .My DA is in the body shop as we speak. In the past few days, I've collected:
1 - 92-93 OEM Acura Bumper
1 - 92-93 OEM Acura Bumper Styrofoam
2 - 92-93 OEM Acura Bumper lenses
1 - 90-93 OEM Acura Passenger Side Fender
1 - 90-93 OEM Style Seibon Carbon Fiber Hood
parts left to get. . .
1 - 90-93 JDM One Piece headlights (picking them up today)
1 - Universal Sparco Aluminum Hood Pins
1 - Spoon Steering Wheel (just cuz i want it :cP)
1 - Signal Auto Detachable Steering Hub (haha, same as above)
so. . . when the car is back, i'll make sure to post it. . i'm getting super antsy though. . . I just put it in the shop on Saturday and I'm getting the body and paint (color matching) done for less than 1grand. . I've seen the work they do and it's EXCELLENT to say the least. . . I picked up theparts my self so when I'm done it'll come out to be just about 2300 or so. . . Another thing is. . . I'm gonna be getting another 3000 dollar student loan refund (money that went over the amount needed to cover my tuition) and thats going to go all into the building the motor. . .So, i'll have roughly 4 grand to put into the motor. . . I'm getting excited!!!

Especially for the body. Aftermarket body parts suck *** more than aftermarket engine or suspension parts. Hell, I used an OEM fender on my 88 Civic Wagon (which is only worth $200) instead of getting an aftermarket. It would have saved me $150 foing aftermarket, but the crap does not fit at all.

i totally agree
i totally agree
You spent almost 500 bucks on a front bumper and all the pieces?? are you nuts.. In got a flawless one with everything for 40 bucks.. "but had the money so *** it" *** that.. thats the biggest waste of $$ I have ever seen.
i have no idea how you would have gotten one for 40 bucks. . but thats one hell of a hook up. . .even the wrecking yards were charging over a hundred bucks easy and none of them even had them. . if i could have gotten a deal, i would have. . . i called all the wrecking yards. . nothing. . and the ones that places had like gspeed corp or passwordjdm or whatever, all had them with scratches (into the plastic, not just the paint) all over them. . i don't really care about the extra money. . it's not that big of a deal to me. . . atleast i KNOW for SURE that i'm getting a quality part with absolutely NO fitment issues. . if you guys wanna waste time with making a taiwan aftermarket part work, then go ahead. . ..
there was damage inside also. . but i'm getting that fixed for pretty cheap at the body shop. . if it was only like the fender, bumper and hood, i'd just do it myself. . but i can't do what the body shop can. . .like welding and cutting new pieces and stuff. .
OEM body parts are definatly the way to go. I got an aftermarket radiator support, fender, bumper and all that and now it looks like total ****. NOTHING fits right. However, I would scope the junkyards instead of buying from a dealer...

Yea, junkyards and recycler.com and other classifieds. I got my 93 bumper for 60 bucks off some kid that just put on some type of shogun body kit
Came with bumper support, foam and bumper lenses. Id go to the dealer for body parts only as a last resort, but **** aftermarket body parts too. I usually spend at least 2 or 3 weeks searching for whatever part i need online before i even THINK about going to the dealer.

love for the 90 integra's.
does your integra have sliding climate control?
anyways, forget everyone telling you, you spent too much money on this and that, its over with. Not like telling you, you spent too much is gonna change anything.
make sure to take lots of pictures when you get it back. i cant wait to start fixing up the exterior of mine.

I agree that OEM body parts are the way to go in terms of fitment and quality but couldn't you find some used body parts? It just seems like a waste of money to me to go and buy brand new OEM parts for a car that old, no matter how nice it is.
ok, you guys completely missed the point of the thread. . ..whether i spent the money or not, shouldn't matter any to you guys. .i had the money, i spent it, have plenty more to spend. . i'm happy with the parts. . . end of story. . ugh. . .

its not that we are blasting you
but just do the math.....
a car thats over 10yrs old and spending that much
on parts that mostlikely will get damaged again...
well my point is if you are trying to sell your car
and you tell the buyer that you replaced only with OEM parts
well dont xpect your money back...
so if you have the money spend it wisely

i've never put money into or worked on a car inhope of raising the resale. . i work on a car and put money into it for the love of having the car. . . i guess I'm the only one who feels that way. . . Didn't know i was supposed to be trying to sell it. . .
