Default clutch pedal adjustment

just so everyone knows...

1991 honda crx si w/ b16a, and the jdm s1 tranny. Action 1ms clutch, clutchmasters lightened flywheel.

since i purchased this car about a year ago the clutch pedal has been giving me problems. the first time i drove the car i noticed the clutch was kind of disengaged even at full out pedal. so i adjusted the cable connected to the tranny and once again it worked fine. the only problem is the clutch pedal is adjusted at its lowest setting and the pedal is still 4 inches off the floor...then 2 inches of engagement... then about an inch of play at the top.

my problem is the pedal is too dam high. i don't know if the other owner changed the clutch cable or if it is supposed to be changed when doing a b16 swap, but i have not meet anyone else with this problem. most of the Honda's im in engage about an inch off the floor. why doesn't mine do that?

so i need adjustment on the clutch pedal engagement. i have no room on the adjustment screw on the tranny itself. what should i be looking for or what else was done wrong by the previous owner that im missing? is there another clutch cable that i should have? or is it just this way?

hope you can help me...

So you press down on the pedal and it disengages really quick? You almost have to completely let off the pedal before it engages?

Sounds like you have the clutch adjusted too tight. I know you said you don't have any room for adjustment at the tranny, but how is it that you adjusted it previously? Is it screwed in or unscrewed? It "should" be screwed in more to make the engagement/disengagement happen when the pedal is closer to the floor.

im sure when i get my car started ill probably have the same problem. i actually had to take the clutch cable arm off to get the clutch cable attached to the tranny. there is absolutely no extra room. this is a 93 b16a in a crx with a ys1 cable tranny. id like to know a good solution also. i do believe you can get an integra clutch cable. just like the throttle cable. perhaps?

as far i can tell from screwing the screw down the pedal engagement goes up. from screwing the screw up it gets closer to the floor. so now im at the last 3 threads going up so there is no more adjustment.

when i adjusted it the first time i had about a 1/4 inch of thread left and just left it because it worked, but now after driving some of my friends cars i realized how high it actually was. now i want to fix it so the engagement is close to the floor instead of the pedal being almost all the way out.

i'll take pictures tomarrow to show everyone how high the adjustment actually is.

I just read in a different post that El Vap had replied to -
He says he used an Integra cable and it allowed for more adjustment.

Maybe shoot him a PM?
