Pretty fishy.
I watched something on the discovery channel about how thieves will steal a car, and then sell it to a used car lot. The fact that he had to get some special maryland serial number for it would scare me away.
What a badass track car that would be though...

I bought some ITR wheels about 18 months ago off a guy that lived in MD. He had a PY ITR and a CW ITR. His PY had those wheels - Konig Tantrums he painted white. Wonder if its the same car. He lived in an apartment complex in a populated area. His cars were garaged but in a large public garage. Wouldn't be surprised if one got stolen. Also he was going to show the car so the leather interior fits that.

Whoever did the leather work on the seats sure did do a crappy job, especially if I can see how crappy they are from blurry pics.

somethnig is 'up" with that car. esp since he has leather seats, said car has been repainted, ect. and the title thing is strange too. I dunno. I would have it inspected at least. To me it sounds like here is the truth:
-someone really stole the car somewhere
-stripped it, interior, and all easy to remove parts (maybe not engine, they may have been non-professional theives)
-this guy buys car super cheap
-fixes it up, resells it (explains the "new paintjob, new interior" and such.
I may be wrong, but thats what I think happend.

You know, if you get caught will a stolen car, even if you didn't know it was stolen when you bought it, the police will take it. You don't get your money back(unless you can track the seller down). The car may end up costing more than he thinks...

I know of somebody selling a 97 ITR with 27 miles on it. not 27000, but 27 miles. He kept it for a project but decided to sell it. It is bone stock and not modified. He is asking $23000 for it. If interested, email me and I will forward you to him.
