Default How do I adjust the vertical up and down on my headlamps?

My passenger side seems a little bit higher than the driver side. I've looked in the Haynes repair manual and it shows an adjustment screw to do this, but my 2001 has a black cylindrical thing instead.

I only noticed the difference in left/right beam patterns until I installed my HIDs.

The instructions should be in the owners manual. The vertical adjustment is located above the low beam housing with the bubble showing through the window. You'll need a screwdriver to turn the "gears" located on the side of this window which adjusts the headlight. HTH

Funny, I was thinking my driver's side headlight was a little low. I'm not sure if the driver's side headlight will always be lower due to the weight of the driver or if it's just how the light pattern is supposed to be. Nevertheless, I've been trying to raise the lights slightly on the drivers side a little to see if it all lines up.

My driver side's bulb is aiming at the lowest vertical point. I took this to the dealer and they ask me if I hit anything on driver side....I said....yeah, a tree. It's a very small tree that didn't even leave a scratch or any dent on my bumper...just a tiny crack.
The dealer said that is enough for the healight assembly to go berserk and is beyond reparing. They said the assembly is extremely sensitive to shocks and I must buy a new set in order to fix the vertical of my driver side light.
