Reassembling chrome rims.. HOw the F$CK?
Ok, im a little lost/pissed/perturbed at the moment so forgive me... I spent 600 bucks to have my rims chromed and all that good stuff. I was worried about when they put the tires on scratching up the chrome. Well, they did that part fine.. But i get a call from the dealer and they cant put the damn rotors on the bike because the chrome is to thick... They cant just force it on because the rotor wont sit flush.. and it will peel back the chrome.. they dont want to grind it because that would **** up the chrome also.. What the heck do you do in a situation like this?? im lost and pissed off...Any help guys?? i just want my bike done.
I'm sorry but this is kind of funny. bl!ng
Ok, now you need to remove anything on the mountign surface of the rotors. Then you should be all set

the chrome rims (I have to admit they do look pretty. plan on chroming anything else?)What kinda fishtank are you running? Fresh/Salt-water?
If the rim were done right there should have been no chrome on the the surface that the rotor mount to.If there is you are in trouble, it dosn't take much to make your rotors not run true and thats a big problem.
Hey, thanks for the compliments.
About the chrome on the surface where the rotor attaces. It went on fine finally.. I havent been able to ride the bike yet, but im sure as SOON as i hit the front brakes im going to find out if the rotors are true or not... When i spin the wheel its a consistent even sound of the pads on the rotors, so that should be a good sign... Im now just waiting on the rear rim... If you want to see the drama with the rear rim.. check this..

Now does that rim look straight to you??
Here is the damage UNDER the chrome..

NOw you can actually SEEE the dent or dip in the rim.. I showed this to the guys that chromed the rims and they are all like "nah, the rims straight, your bearings just arent in correctly.." ahah, i mic'd the bearings and they are in correctly.. I then asked "how do you explain the damage under the chrome" him "i dont know"
ahaah, so we will see..
