ECU code: 54 CKF Crankshaft Fluctuation Sensor HELP
Hi, a while back i was driving and a cel popped up. I pulled the code and was given 54, which is the CKF crankshaft fluctuation sensor according to my haynes. Should I start looking for a new sensor or is there a way to trouble shoot this? As far as i know, the sensor is located under the lower timing belt cover? Anyone who's had this code, can you give me some advice? prices on parts? Thanks
Edit: this is on an obd-IIa 1998 civic dx hatchback with a d16y7.

Has the timeing belt ever been replaced? Check the wires where they run past the alternator belt.

It should measure 1600-3200 ohms between pins one and three at the connector.
Check for shorts to ground too.
