The drop in filter for the GSR is the same for all 94-01 integras.
Where are you getting this?

Are you sure it's a drop in (replacement) filter for the 3rd gen Integras? It might be for the 92-93 GSR.

Wasn't there a post about a year ago stating how K&N didn't make replacement drop in filters for the newer Integras? Also, I asked the head R&D guy at K&N (only a few miles away from my house) about the whole situation and he said, "...we cannot develop them for the 94+ Integras because of the tip on the stock filter element is to fragile to reproduce and still have the 100,000 miles warranty standard on our filters." Something to that effect.

i was in the same boat as u a few months back. K&N does show a filter for GSRs on their web page but NO ONE has the part number! I had to do some handy work to make a universal K&N fit onto my old paper filter (well after i gutted the paper filter of course). The part i got was 2820, i think it's RU-2820...

but my car is a GSR...i think ITR filter boxes may be the same, not sure tho...

u can always opt for the Comptech foam but that's like $70!!!!!

They have it for $ 64.99. I saw a picture of the E-2427 on H-A.net about a month ago. It looks a little different from the stock filter, because it doesn't have the white end piece and black rubber bushing. It also has a chrome end cap (I personally did not like it). I will see if I can find the picture of it.

I was told that Comtech gets their filters from K&N. I not sure if that true, but maybe that would be worth looking into. Just a thought.

RU2820 will drop in gsr's or type r's airbox.
If you choose to delete your airbox, and attach a filter to the end of your intake hose, the RU3130 will "fit"...I had to cut a 4" long piece of 3" diameter PVC pipe to stick one end in the intake tube, and one end in the filter. So I guess you have a couple of options.

Comptech uses foam filters, almost assuredly not from K&N...i think they're Uni filters. You can rig up an RU3130 to work, check out http://integra.vtec.net/geeser

Foam filters FLOW BETTER BUT that's because they are not really filtering

you believe everyhting you see on the net...? i sure dont...plus, the hks filter has very large "pores" opposed to the comptech filter, which wasnt tested...that could be one reason so much dirt goes thru...at least on that test...

I got great news! The part number is E-2427.

I went to the K&N website and got it. I'm going to search for a store to order these and I'll post the store name. Do you guys think a K&N will flow better than a Comptech foam filter?

This is not the only review I found. In general, all foam filters do not filter as good as paper filter. However, on average, they do flow better than paper. I can only find this post to support my argument for the time being. However, I am sure I have seen a few reviews comparing foam and paper, although not specifically Comptech filter.

Is is better with a drop in? I thought an open intake (cold or warm) was better. Aslo will the Type R gain much from this anyways?
