Default K-series 'lude?

Does anyone in here think it would be possible to fit the TSX K24 w/6speed trans into the 4th or 5th gen Prelude? They fit the K20 into a damn civic so why not the K24 into a lude? Opinions? C'mon EMOBB1 I know you have something to say.

personally if i'm gonna spend 5 or 6 grand on a motor, i'd want it to be in something a little lighter than a lude...like a lotus elise shell.

Exactly something like this although like its been discussed in the road racing forum a RSX-S engine would be killer.

k24 tsx engine 200hp 166 lbs tq
h22a4 200 156

Why spend all that money, work and time for 10 more lbs of tq and im sure the k24 weighs more.

because you take the k24block, use the rsx hype S head, and you got 220 whp with stock parts and ecu flash, some people are predicting in excess of 300whp out of these engine in the next few race seasons (ALL MOTOR). HASport has already released civic/integra k series swap mounts.

heres the kicker... i talked to the owner of HASport at the recent idrc even here in AZ, and he told me they are developing kits for the accord/prelude chassis as well. i of course asked when they would be released and he told me "summer."

The k20 motor does not spin the other way does it? Because I heard somewhere when I discussed f20c swap they said the k20 spins in the same direction. I assume they are wrong, b/c of all the civics and integra's having this motor now.

K24's spin the opposite direction of the H22, i believe. all of the new honda motors do.

Bummer I think that would be a great swap. So the k20a spins the same direction?

they've (HASPORT) have obviously discovered ways around it spinning the other direction, ive seen several civics/tegs with k swaps already!

all the info i said was just told to me by the owner, i was paraphrasing...

Yes, the motor spins the other way, but thats ok, because its mounted "backwards" from the typical b/h/f/d motor...

K24 with Type-S head would own in a prelude chassis..

They do spin in the opposite direction but remember also that the K motors are turned backwards from what we're used to seeing; meaning, the intake mani is on the front and the exhaust mani is on the rear.

I'm not in the same boat as you lude guys but I have a JDM H22 in my civic coupe and I walked all over a guy in a RSX Type-S so I'm not real impressed with the K's. Don't get me wrong, they are great motors that have a lot of unrealized potential and the next wave of hybrids will definitely be based off of the K platform but I just love my H22.

Yeah I was gonna build a H22a soon, but then read that there is a possiblity of a k20 motor mount for our car. And this is correct I did call Hasport, but it won't be available for about 6 months. So now I debate H22 or K20 ?

I think that building the H22 will be better money spent. The K20 is great, but expensive. For the money put into that swap, I would build my H22 and walk all over it.

K20's are 10x the motors h22's are. How about you go against a k20 in the same chassis and then tell us your results.

edit: putting a k20 in a prelude is not something you wanna do...k24 with type-S head is the way to go...we need the torque

I put this up to see what others thought about the possibility of the project not to incite a H22 K24 debate. I want a six speed prelude for getting to Vegas in four hours, not an over powered civic to drag at Qualcomm and C-bad. I don't care whether or not the H-series is better or worse than the K-series; I had a Vtec Prelude and loved the Hduece-duece just wanted dome opinions on whether or not the job could be done.
Simply I like Preludes, and think one with a six speed would be a hoot.

anything is possible with money, but what benefit would a 6spd prelude be if you don't care about racing?
