Default Need some advice on waranty for aftermarket clutch

So here is the deal. I need some advice. Some of you may recall my ordeal with my Exedy clutch back in July. I had an Exedy organic clutch put in and after only 2000 miles it started slipping. I know that I broke it in properly and my motor is not making enough power to over power it. So I bought a new ceramic clutch and took it to the same shop that put in the organic. I then sent the organic back to exedy to have them see if it was a defective clutch or not. I finally got a letter from the VP of Engineering saying that they looked at it and it wsa obviously installed incorrectly. I took that letter to the shop that put it in and they said that they did nothing wrong and that they want to talk to Exedy before they do anything else. I personally feel that there is no reason for them to talk to Exedy. If the VP of Exedy Engineering is saying that it's the installers fault (and he gave a detailed reason, I just don't feel like typing it all), then it's their fault.

What do some of you shop owners think?

James

I'm no shop owner, but people have a way of pointing blame back and forth. In my experiance, the best way to find out who's work was bad, is to get both parties together. Blame them both and watch them sort it out. If you act as a middle man in this dispute, it will take twice as long to settle and you will get very frustrated. Good luck.
