Just wonderning is it better to get skunk 2 stage ones with gears for 1000 or go CTR for 500+gears=750??? I plan on turboing but not for about 9 months or so. MAX. Or... are crane cams for turbos okay to run in my b16 without the turbo and go ahead and get those.
I'd recommend upgrading your valvetrain if you plan to get aftermarket cams. I've heard good things about the skunk2. Save your money and go with skunk2.

no...not even true, if you're going turbo, dont spend your money on the common NA high lift, LONG DURATION cams out there. crower makes some GREAT high light, short duration cams that work great on turbo. but really even when going NA dont spend the extra money on CTR cams. the benefits that you will get going w/ ctr as opposed to ITR are negligible (only the intake cam is different, and the duration is only a WEEEE bit longer not worth the extra $$$)
turbo...go with crower turbo cams, cheaper than skunk2 anyway.

............And this is why this hobby is so expensive. If you want to do it right you have to spend the $$. You start skimping out on $$ and you won't acheive optimal performance.......Although I know what your saying about wanting a "universal" cam that will be fine in both instances. IMO, get the cam once you go turbo. Just leave it stock, or do other things, like suspension, until you are ready to seriously take on the task of increasing power.
itr/ctr cams in b-vtec turbo setups own you all.
there was a thread here on h-t (i'll look for the link) where a guy made 615whp-ish on a b-vtec (gsr?) turbo with itr cams.
