Ok, this sucks because i can figure out how the hell to get my picture on this damn post!
Anyway, i hit a cat two nights ago, and since my car is lowered (koni yellows) the damn cat cracked my front bumper, I drive a 95 civic coupe and the crack is right in front of the little fake vent on the right side--its goes towards the back of the car, not horizontally. Its cracked all the way through.
-The hood, right quarter panel, and the bumber are 2 months old--I hit a cop doing 15 mph on a typical shitty, snowy, icey WI night, 2400$ worth of damage to me nothing to the cop----
If someone can tell me how to post pic's i can show what its looks like.
But from what it sounds like, do you think i should replace it, or try to bondo and paint? <---- i imagine its hard to fix it up to look good..true, false?

I was comming around the corner and the cop was 100% in my lane helping someone in the ditch--i put the car in neutral and tried to stop-- but i just slid into him...

The cop wasnt pissed he was pretty cool because he looked at his reinforced rear bumper and there was a tiny little scratch about 2 inches long...didnt get a ticket... only had to pay for my poor baby...

This thread isn't pointless, he's asking about whether its worth it to fix his bumper.

From my experience (my 91 Accord decided to kiss a 240SX while playing in the snow in a parking lot a couple years ago) its not worth it to try and fix. Just get a new bumper from a salvage yard. You could keep the old one and try to fix it, then put it on for the winters in the future.

As for the poster, I'd take it to a body shop and see what they recommend. probably better off putting an OEM one back on, though.

I agree, but its not the origional poster.

They do fix bumpers. Im not sure as to the
process, but I know a guy who used to work
at a company that fixed broken bumpers. He
said that they would turn out as good as oem,
and it definatly wasnt because he worked for
the company.

 

Just get a new bumper, it will be easier in the long run... And for the bat haters, it could have been worse, he could have curb stompped it

 

i totally agree with what he did with cat. Not because i am a mean person but that cat was probably not going to live anyhow and he just helped it out. When i hit i deer next to my house i went home and got the 12 guage with some 4 load slugs and finished it off. don't worry dude you did right **** those that think you are wrong.

 

on beating the cat to put it out of its misery you should of taken it to the vet and let them handle it

just get a new or used oem bumper its not worth fixing it cause it'll most likely crack again over time
