Default Vtec Switch

I am planning on just getting a switch from like radio shack. I figure i just pop it on once at like 4g when racing and just leave it on untill the race is over when i shift ill still be above 4gs anyway so it will act like the ecu is running it, so it wont burn out correct?

Yeah wait till you forget to turn it off sometime. Then you're going to regret the manual vtec switch.

I did that once when i first did my minime, worked out, but my car was still extremely slow, then i rebuilt the head and added a cam and vakvetrain, along with an obd0 to obd1 swap, it it was a world of difference. But the cam made a big difference too, becasue now im running a stock d16z6 with an obd1 swap, and its just not as near as quick as m last setup.

Oh, but with the switch, whenever i forgot to turn it ff, i didnt notice a thing when i flicked it off, no change. Its like it was never on in teh first place. I dunno.

thats the dumbest thing ive ever heard vtecs designed to switch over ALONG with timing and fuel......not at your own demand. Spend the bucks and get a vtec controller.........
