difference between usdm's b16 vs b18 in crx
ok guys. decision time!. either the b16(the 00' vtec motor, not sure whats its called) or the b18c1(gsr motor right?) . i dont know which one to put in because i dont know which one would be better suited for the car, its a 90' crx si. i heard that the b16 can redline more or rev higher then the b18.whats the diff in a crx? but what i'm looking for is to have low end power but also on freeway be able to run too. let me know what you guys have n' if you like it. right on guys!
First off right now I'm questioning your actual knowledge. The b16a has a near perfect rod-stroke ratio, (1.74, 1.75 is theoretically perfect) so therefore it can Rev higher in the end. In sheer numbers though you're looking at quite a big advantage going with a GSR motor. And a GSR can rev pretty high also. If you want low end, you want a turbo motor or an LS(or B20)/VTEC But I really suggest you do some research before making such a major decision becasue right now you seem like you're in the dark.
yeah .. i'm pretty confused .. in the dark with my little night light. maybe like what would be the diff in 1/4 mile on the motor for a crxer. but dont know whats better to have. what would you guys recommend? i can get a hold of either motor thats why

well price is an issue? here is my rundown.
you get a b16 and have some fun after a while
you want to go faster. so then you spend the money to build it
and you loose the reliabilty of the motor. i have seen crx's w/ mini me's tear up b16's or be dead even w/ little boltons. b16+crx give and take 14.5 and up in the Q- mile.
i say do it right the first time go with a R-motor the motor is built from honda
and ready to go, and you have the honda reliablity, this swap will be great
for all around, track and not to mention your car would be a beast in the street
and most likely a very low 13 second car.

But do u just want to do the swap or do the swap and do some work to it
Yo hit me back
