No, your not missing a gasket.

Have you made sure that old oil ring gaskets have not stuck to the engine block?

check around where you took it off, sometimes they get stuck on the cylinder when its removed, or you might have one from an old filter stuck on there, but that would cause a much bigger leak

if you tightened it too much it can create a small tear and leak.

BTW do you have an oil cooler attached ? if so check the gasket for that

No your not missing a gasket on that filter but also make sure that you didn't Double Gasket (Leaving the old one on) You should also make sure when you put the new one on pretty tight so you dont have any leaks and clean up any excess oil that may be dripping so that way it doesn't look like your leaking any new oil.

You should always clean where the filter threads on everytime you change the filter. You can get the most minute amount of dirt in there and it will cause leakage.

not all honda filters say FRAM on it. when i dont have time to get a honda filter, i use the same double guard fram in the pic. atleast it does have the anti-flowback valve. anyways, ive never had a problem with them. just make sure the surface of the block is clean (wipe it w/ rag or paper towel) and use ur finger and dab oil onto the rubber gasket on the filter. hand tighten + 1/2 turn (i usually hand tighten + 1 full turn)

all aftermarket oil filters that are supposed to be used on hondas should all have an anti-drainback valve. that rubber looking piece under those holes where the oil leaves the filter is an anti-drain back valve. some valves are better than others. there are two types, rubber and silicon. generally a silicon ADBV is better than a rubber one. you can tell the difference between the two b/c a silicon ADBV is red or orange in color and a rubber ADBV is black.

i've done that exactly twice,

start it up, and i'm like wtf? this was one of the first times i did an oil change, about 3-4 years ago.

second time was on my sister's escape, started it up, oil everywhere, knew right away what it was.

both times there was an extra gasket stuck on the block, leaked really fast.

check to see if you got an extra gasket on there.

i would have to say yes. based on their construction, they are one of the most cheaply made oil filters.

Go to NAPA and get a NAPA filter. They're made by Wix.
