Becoming smog legal?
Just as the title says im in the process of making my swap legal and need some help from you guys so here goes.
I know the info is on the site somewhere but i havent found exactly what im looking for.
first off is the stuff i need to do.
i have an itr motor in a 92 hatch
1 legal intake (preferably short ram but i dont know if there is a legal one for this motor)
2 primary and sencondary o2 sensors
3 stock header and cat
4 stock itr ecu (which one?)
5 OBD 2 diagnostic port (how do you wire it up)
6 charcoal canister and solenoid
I think that is everything that i will need to have hooked up, if you guys can think of anything that i might of missed please let me know.
my biggest concern is wiring the OBD 2 port and doing any wiring needed for the ecu.
thanks for the help

1. AEM makes smog legal intakes. Any modifaction you want to do to your car must be for that ENGINE and must have a CARB EO# (california air resources board executive order number)
2. ITRs only came in OBDII format, you need to keep up with OBDII specs I.E. both O2s.
3. Stock cat = yes, in 96 catalytic converters started scrubbing NOX as well a HC and CO so they are more expensive and high flows do not exist right now. Header can have be any with a CARB EO for the ITR.
4. P73 yes, stock USDM ITR ECU.
5. I suggest getting a 150 dollar 96-98 complete wire harness. It makes things easier.
6. Keep em you need them. Your stock civic ones are fine.

sounds like your going through a lot of work to make this thing legal.. i dont think that obd2 connector is needed.. isnt the law, you must have a motor in your car that is newer than your chassis and have all the emmissions stuff to go w/ the motor.. if that is how it goes, i would suggest,
1. legal intake, AEM
2. both o2 sensors
3. stock ITR header, and cat
4. obd2 p73 ecu using a obd1-obd2a conversion harness
5. NOT NEEDED
6. get the charcoal canister should have one in there for the stock motor, my 94 hatch one..
You need to get the obd2 conversion harness and stock ecu...

Uh yes it is the law.. for your engine to be OBD-II compliant you will need the DLC along with the wiring that goes with it.
