Default Popping out of 1st gear

I have a Si tranny on my ZC, for the last 3 months it has been poping out of 1st gear when accelerating from a stop, it was doing it once every couple of weeks. But today it did it 5 times going to and from school.

What should i check for before bringing it to a shop?

Tranny fluid level, its probably low.

Although, once I had this happen and my linkage was getting loose. But 9 times out of 10 its the fluid getting low.

if its a manuel transmission it may be ur sincraniser ring i had an 88 crx and it did the same thing till i completly had to hold the thing in 1st gear. check ur fluids if they arent low take it to get it looked at if they say that is the prob go to auto zone and get the part get a hanes manuel and swap the ring not to hard to do just keep everything in order.

How do u check the fluid level?...weird tho because i just changed the clutch 3 months ago...filled it with 2 quarts of 10w-30. I dont see any sign of a leak. Did i do something wrong?

Well, when you fill the tranny the Honda shop manual wants it just up to the filler hole. Basically they tell you to fill it via the filler hole until it starts to run out of the hole. It ends up being ~2quarts. This is also done with the car on the ground (no jackstands) and the surface itself should be level.

If you can get the filler bolt off and get the car level, you can probably stick a little finger in the filler hole and see if the level is anywhere near that. If you don't feel anything, try filling up until like listed above.

I'm guessing you already know where the filler and drain bolts are if you did the clutch. But in case you don't there's pics in this thread of the filler hole and drain plug:

I think its actually a B16, but it looks the same.
