Default D16z6 ECU on zc vtec

during my lil tach problem escapade, i switched out ecu's with my friends car in an attemtp to see if my ecu was the problem . . . . the ECU im sporting now is the one that came with ZC. However, when i plugged my friends z6 ecu on my zc ( which are practically the same motors) it felt way stronger . . . . just wanted to know what peeps thought about me switching it out? With my lil gauage cluster i pulled out of a 95 ex, the tach redlines @ like a lil over 6500 and the motor is supposed to redline @ 7200, which makes me think the tach off . . . . if I use the z6 will this be fixed or what yo?

any help = greatly appreciated

the ecu's are what control where your redline is at. the zc one is probably auto, thats why u get the shitty rev limit and not as much timing and fuel.

the z6 ecu has a higher rev limit, better timing and fuel maps, higher mph limit.

your best bet is to get it chipped to z6 specs
