Need advice on putting F22 Accord/Prelude S 5th gear in H22 tranny
Hey guys, I am seriously thinking about doing this. Any advice?? Has anyone done it??
I can get the gear brand new for $35 and since the tranny is already out of the car...seems like the best time to do it.
I want to be revving lower like an Accord on the highway. There is no reason to be revving that high.....if I can help it. I am sure it would help gas mileage too.
Let me know what you think.

you know i have been thinking of doing this too,
i do alot of highway driving too, i would say if the tranny is out already, then go ahead and try it, just make sure you take pictures, and label EVERYTHING.
i was thinking i was going to collect all the desired gears that i wanted and once day rip appart my tranny and rebuild it all with new syncros and put the gears in i want.
edit: you know what i have been looking for, is the gear ratios for the accords, you know how we have a list for all the trannys for the ludes, i can't find much info about the accord trannys

Tried it and it won't work unless you want to make custom shims. Also tried to put a H23 fifth gear in a H22 tranny and it won't work either. Despite all of the Honda standardizations the tranny gears are not one of them. Sorry.

Awww man, that sux.
Why did you try putting an H23 5th gear into an H22 tranny. Aren't they the same gear ratio??

I have swapped between accord and prelude trannies as well.. No problem
Andy, if you like the track, I would NEVER recomend changing the prelude gearing, its the best out there...
