O2 sensors for 98 GSR
Hello,
I think my O2 sensors are bad from previously running rich. Leaness on A/F ratio meter at tip in (way lean) and slow response on tip in are the main symptoms. Does anyone know if anyone (NGK, Bosch, etc) makes replacements? A&H wants $185 each!! Also, is it possible to inspect or test an O2 sensor to see if it's good?
Thanks,

I'm not sure about Honda's but you should get a check engine light if your o2 sensor is bad. One way to test it, is to use a voltometer(SP?) and see how many ohms its sending. I'm not sure what it should be. Something like if its steady at 1 its bad or something. Check hanyes manual. I just used a OEM o2 senor in my car. $60. I just spliced the wires into the old ones. $185 most likely includes the entire wire harness.
If it is cycling slowly, then yes, it is probably going. Some have good luck with the Bosch unit that you tap in, others do not, 50/50. For 60-80 bucks, and a warranty, if it burns out in a year, you are covered.

machaf,
Was that a new OEM sensor from the dealer? It would definitely be worth some soldering to save a couple hundred bucks.
Jason,
When you say "tap in" do you mean just reuse the old harness and solder some connections? Or is it something more complicated?
Thanks for the help guys!
