Default ITB's and stock compression ratio

I am considering buying a set of A-Sport Japan 43mm ITB's for my R. Compression Ratio has been brought up and I have been told that to make it worthwhile for the ITB's, I should have at least 12:1 compression. It has been recommended to me that I get a set of CTR pistons and of course a new head gasket such as the Spoon one to acheive this CR. My thoughts on this matter are: if I am going to rebuild the bottom end, would I even bother going with CTR pistons, and maybe get a 2.0L stroker kit and build it up right...

What are your thoughts on ITB's with stock compression???

Oh yeah, the deal I would be getting on the ITB's themselves seems pretty sweet, but starting to think of what else potentially should be done if I were to decide to do any bottom end stuff, god it makes me feel broke. Of course, I would just have to do the clutch, flywheel, probably change the final drive, uprgrade LSD, and all that stuff, if I would do it, I would have to do it up right... Suddenly we are into money where I could practically order up a 2L Spoon engine and just sell mine. hehe.

ITBs...

What ECU setup are you going to use with them?

I was actually about two steps from running ITB's on my stock engine. I had a set of GSXR 1000 ones that were completely set up for it, and should have done the job reasonably well (but I sold them). Naturally, they will perform better with the increased compression ratio, but I don't forsee there being any hindrances to running a set with stock compression.

Toda B's are a waste on stock compression to begin with.

And ITBs? I don't get why they are good for cars that aren't highly modified.

ITBs were always the 'last step' after you had a very highly built, tuned engine.
