had a battery die on me today... so i went out and bought a new battery, it was a little bit too big, i ended up trying to fit in the new one anyway so i disconnected the old unit... still no luck.
i'm guessing it was disconnected for around 3 hours or so while i went out to go get a smaller battery.

now the fun begins.

go out to the runs with a friend tonight. he has a 1979 VW Golf, had a 1.8gti conversion done to it... has some lumpier cams and lightweight flywheel, exhaust intake etc.

anyways, when we used to run eachother, he'd be a tad better in 1st gear (not from launch but because he'd still go past me when i had a better launch), equal through most of 2nd and by 8000 in 2nd it was all over red rover for him.
now, i cream him through first, more through second... and still more through 3rd.

i don't think it is his car being slower than usual, because i could seriously feel like my car was gruntier as soon as i started driving it.

what would explain this type of performance increase??
could it be to do with the ecu resetting or something alon those lines?
