I have a B16A running a PCT (B16B) ECU OBDIIb. I haven't run into any problems with this ECU running in safe mode(CEL/MIL). I have only one O2 sensor and no cat. I'd check your sensors out before you go ODBI cause your problem will most likely still be there. I've "heard", that you can throw a JDM OBDII ECU on a OBDI engine and not throw any codes with no additional sensors needed. Hope this helps!

What for car is your B16B in?
