New honda emblem won't fit the back of 97 Accord LX
I know this is a rinky-dink problem/question but I'm a newbie so there. heh Anyway, I just got a pair of colored honda emblems that were "supposedly" for a 97 accord. I removed the stock emblem off the back and the back of that emblem has two small posts while the back of the aftermarket emblem has two "spikes" (they look like the head of a phillips screwdriver). Well the 3M tape on the back won't stick because the stock emblem i removed is curved to fit the slight curve on the trunk where the emblem sits and aftermarket emblem back is NOT curved (it's straight).
I know it's a stupid question but I'd like to see if i'm missing something or if it's just the wrong part or what.
THanks in advance

There is specific glue for emblems, however if their is a curve to it, it will likely never fit. You can either drill holes for the pins, or just put a pair of pliars ont hem and break em off. Hope that helps.
Maybe its a sign to not install those new "fancy" emblems...IMO they look like ****, I would either go badgeless or stock one
but what the hell do I know
but what the hell do I know
Atheist - It has 3M tape on it already...should I use glue as well or should that do the trick?
Jwogen1 - is there a certain brand or type I should get? I think I actually have some kind of double sided sticky foam in the garage.
Thanks for the feedback,
Wop

I actually want to go badgeless, but after a new paintjob. For now I just wanted to try an aftermarket badge look. Go easy on me, It's my first time!
I'm gonna go today after work and pick up some double sided sticky foam from the crafts store.
Also, where's a good place (online or otherwise) that has a reasonably priced, large selection of grille (sp?) mesh? And where's a good place to pick up an aftermarket grille for a 97 Accord LX?
Thanks

A friend of mine from work said that I should use glue on both sides of the foam. She said something about "painters glue" I think. If I am gonna use glue on both sides of the sticky foam, what type/brand is the best/safest to use?
Thanks for all the help,

i still dont think you should use any glue on your finish. the double-sided stuff i used has been working for years now--car washes, weather etc.
http://www.tasautoparts.com has some aftermarket grills to check out

Jwogen1 - What is the exact brand/type of sticky foam you used (if you can remember)? And thanks for the link, TAS has a bunch of nice stuff.

What no love?? j/p, its all a matter of personal opinion. And I wasn't being hard on ya.....just trying to give insight. But its your car and your decision, and if you like it, thats what matter. Others, including myself may or may not like it

Sorry bout that, I was running late for work when I wrote the reply. I do appreciate your feedback and suggestions, every little bit helps! And I actually am going to go badgeless, but I'd rather do that when the car is really up to par and has gotten a new paintjob.
MUCH LOVE
