just thought I'd share the final design wit joo guys...

this is how I baffled my ITR pan.



with the doors closed it acts as a standard baffled pan , but unlike the fixed setups it allows much faster drainback and is designed to help oil get back to the pickup as quickly as possible.

if you look at the OEM pan design it only has one drainback hole , so all the oil could potentially be stuck away from the pickup for quite some time , under cornering and acceleration its going to stay on top of the baffles until the load direction changes , with my pan the trap door will open and allow instant drainback.


you can see the notches that direct oilflow back to the pickup , where it belongs.





both doors operate seperately and live in a well lubricated environment so wear is not a concern in the least.

operation is simple , under hard accel/decel the oil is forced against the door which closes to keep the oil near the pickup acting as a fixed baffle , as soon as the load changes the door closes and keeps the oil at the pickup preventing starvation.

I charge 125.00 if you send me your pan , turn around time is 1-2 work days.

fixed baffles are also available for 75.00 if you send me your pan.

D series / H series , alum and steel pans are also no problemo.

Hell no Doc, I saw you talking about this in the RR/Auto-X forum. Thanks for sharing some knowledge with us as well. Will probably hit you up about doing my gsr pan once i get my swap. (assuming you'll still be doing this). Looks quality, and as navin said, cheaper than mugen!!. Nice work doc!
