After seeing the Best Motoring Video on it.....man that thing really sux(perfromance/speed/etc) for the money.EVEn compared to cars in the sane price range and lower.
If you haven't seen the video...the best race aroun dthe track after going from 2nd to last is against the DC5-R.and even that whips up on it!

I honestly do no like the looks of it..and when I had my 350Z back when there we'ren't that many around(Dec 02)..everyone that i would talk to me about my Z was like

me:"Its a 350Z"
Them:"a what?"
me: "its the new Z"
them:" that looks good man"
me:'thanx"
them:"Man you seen that new RX-8 coming out..man thats what I'm gonna get...that car is Badass"

I was like fine,..get that oil burning peice o' ****!

But Compared to the S2000...no match...its is not as fast as everyone thinks and I would pick teh S over that car anyday of the week.

They need to bring back the RX-7 is what they need to do!

Sorry for such elaboration...but thats my view on the ol' dirty RX-8

The Rx-8 isn't that bad. My friend is picking one up this month. My other friend has a S2k. Hopefully they'll race. I think the S2000 will win.

 

top gear raced the RX8 on their test track. ended up with same time as the 350z and the M3

 

better driver would win but with everything being =

RX 8 would lose.

i know right, the 2004 has a better 1/4 time than the previous models. according to the magazines i read of course.

 

before I picked up the S2K, I went to test drive the RX-8 and was really unimpressed. I took it up to redline and it just felt like nothing serious was happening. Very underwhelming experience. But in a straight line competition, I'd put my money on any year S2K...

Skafia didnt you know that pre 04 has 100 more hps??!?!?

 

The s2k will outperform the RX8 in every category. The RX8 is more of a practical sports car, while the s2k is a true sports car (2 seater). The n/a rotary is pretty weak without a turbo.
