WHAT YEAR PRELUDE, IT MIGHT BE YOUR MASTER CYLINDER FOR YOUR HYDROLIC CLUTCH., DID YOU PUT A SHORT SHIFTER KIT IN THERE, IF YOU DID IT MIGHT BE INSTALLED WRONG AND NOT READING THE GEARS

it's a 97 base with 80k miles.. stock clutch, no short shifter, no mods done to the tranny. it's weird too.. when the engine is running, i can't put it in gear, but when i hold it in the position of the gear ( even with the clutch pedal down) the car will move, as if it's in the clutch's friction zone.

Slave or master cylinder... Check for leaks, no leaks, then bleed of fluid and air, if then no success, then it's your clutch!

I'd say go with that first.

And take it off the damn caps button before I edit your post ELUD THIS. That's annoying.

Awesome clutch package... but you'll regret it the first time you're in traffic.

if your going to change out your clutch you can put in a act stage 3 with no modifications to your engine besides the basic intake etc etc.

NO NO! I'm sure your clutch hydraulic system (master and/or slave cylinder) is already dead. Getting a new clutch won't solve the problem. Those ACT xtremes have a reputation for blowing cluutch hydraulic systems. It's happened to me and a few others around here. ACT makes good stuff, but that setup is too much for a daily driver, even if you have NOS.

You had no need to replace the clutch....I'm positive it was just a hydraulic problem somewhere and you will still have this problem after the new install.

You will hate that clutch for what you do.

Is it just me, or is this thread about two years old? I noticed because safe driver stated about he ordered a ACT 6puck clutch and said he might go F/I in the future but in his sig, he seems to be supercharged. Also the date on the first handful of threads shows up to be from 2001.

I would like to know if the clutch was the problem.

I had the SAME problem. Long story short....I changed my clutch master and slave cylinder. That did not fix it. I think my clutch was the issue. I had it changed....but I also told the mechanic that I had a spare tranny just in case the tranny was bad.

He called me up and told me that my tranny was bad. After he changed my tranny...he never gave me back my old tranny. He told me that he had already sent it out to the dismantlers. I think he kept it. I need some proof so that when I take him to court.....I have some prrof that the clutch was the issue.
