Default Turbo the zc or get a new engine?

I just need some thoughts from some peope who kknow what they are talking about since im not too mechanically inclined. so far the only turbo setups for the zc i hae seen or heard about is the greddy but i heard that u still have to do some modifications to it for it to work. Is there any other complete turbo kits that will work. i dont want to go junkyard cause it is too much gatering and what not. So should i even keep the zc and turbo it. Also, how much would it cost? Or should i just get a complete b-series swap? Thanks

it's a hybrid car.. non stock motor. NO kit is just going to bolt right in. I'd go half Junkyward half pre-made

CRX/Std Exhaust manifold. or D-series Log manifold
Get a shop to do custom pipes.
use a Tyrus intercooler
bov (pick 1 or the 10000000)
internally wasgated
450's w/ AFC.

I've heard of a zc crx that got over 200 horse to the wheel from a t3/t4 turbo setup on 14 psi if that helps.

definitely boost it. the car already has a swap and it's a d series. it might be different if it were already a b. say a ls, then it wouldn't be too hard to go b18c or whatnot.

but if you go b now, you need mounts, complete swap, and time.

for the same amount of money, you can reliably boost your zc and be faster than a b series swap.

go to the junkyard, dsmtrader, partstrader and start shopping. basically u want to rape a dsm. go with a t-25 or 14b. 450cc injectors, high flow fuel pump, get an hf exhaust manifold, metal headgasket to lower ur compression. u need oil lines, a few fittings,u can get intercooler piping made cheap from an exhaust shop or a metal shop, and get a front mount off a starion, or an isuzu pickup truck. and i might be missing a few things but get a bov and an avc to do the avc hack. just my 2cents. and it would def help to get a downpipe,2.5 or 3 inch exhaust with a gutted cat.

what you really need to do before u put money into the project is alot of research. I started by using the Search button.

also try looking into other sohc vtec kits. apex makes a great kit as well.

go to thezcr.com and do some research, there's a FI forum for the turbo peeps and talk with other people to have built a zc for boost already. theres also other people with your exact questions. great site.

also remeber the FUEL MANAGEMENT and to try to build up your engine a lil bit if you want to turn up the boost and get the most power. Plus like all things....dyno tunning is a GOOD idea and keep and eye on that Air/Fuel so ya don't run lean and BLAM!!!!.....oh yeah "Don't drill the oil return line with the oil pan on." was reading a old Import Tuner and some dude drilled the oil lines with the oil pan on and then his engine got totaled from metal shavings and he was like "i didn't know...all the directions said were to drill here....."
