HEY I GOT A 99 LUDE SO FAR I GOT AEM CAM GEARS , DC SPORTS 4-2-1 STAINLESS STEEL HEADERS intake, AND GREDDY EVOLUTION CAT BACK EXHAUST, IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW FAR SHOULD I ADJUST MY CAM GEARS IN ADVANCE FOR THE BEST MAX OUT HORSE POWER. I HAVENT DYNOED IT YET SO FAR. THANX~ JOHNNY

 

Try exhaust on 0 and +2 on the intake cam.. noticed nice improvement...

 

HAVE YOU GOT A CHANCE TO DYNO THIS AT ALL? WITH THE EXHAUST ON 0 AND THE INTAKE ON +2 WONT THAT BE TOO MUCH BACK PRESSURE. IM ADDING MORE AIR THEN FUEL AND THAT MEANS MY CAR WILL BE TOOO LEAN. I WANT TO HAVE A MAJORITY OF POWER IN VTEC CAUSE I HAVE 156 IBS OF TORQUE JUST NOT AT THE WHEELZ.

Doesn't honda318dx have a 4th generation - not a 5th. Or did you hear it from someone with a 5th generation. Either way it can't hurt to try. Also, since you have different mods, then the adjustments will mean different performance, such as having a full exhaust you would tend to raise exhaust a few degrees or so. You need to goto a dyno and find out yourself.

A good idea if you cannot get to a dyno is to find someone with same engine/mods and see what they dyno'd at. Also, do you want more low end, or high. Sometimes the adjustments can lower low end whereas it gains on high end - just an example.

I found someone that has the exact same mods as me, he adjusted his cam gears to -4i/+4e (10% torque @ low-end dyno'd) and had the most power from this. Don't try this, most likey you will lose performance that way. Another example...
