as everyone knows im trying to sell my car... check sig! i've been looking for a 92-95 eg swapped hatch before the autox season starts. i found a 95 si w/ a B18c1 swap https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=791944 for the mod list...
so anyway he agreed to trade me cars if i throw in $150.00 dollars, all the stock parts i have left, and a apexi turbo timer. and he gets to keep some parts like steering wheel and wheels..etc
well i come to find out that this car has a cracked windshield, missing passenger side airbag, stereo he is taking, needs to have the 02 sensor rewired, and its missing the front lip. 110k on the engine. and a bit of clutch sqweel?
so do you think i should still trade??? i want to and all i just dont know if its worth all that trouble to have to replace and fix stuff... that and i cant really afford to buy the new parts. i need something dependable. thanxx in advance!!

... edit. he told me the other night that he got a street racing ticket friday night, so know i feel he is just beating the **** out of it before i get it.

 

IMO I wouldn't do it, I like your car better.

 

If your car is in better condition than that I'd say he's trying to rip you off... I mean extra money ok, but extra money and he takes what he wants is bs. The b18 isn't worth that much more (when included with the whole car). If you did that there's no way you'd be able to get rid of the car without either ripping off someone else or spending a hell of a lot of money to get it back to sellable. If you really want a swapped hatch just keep what you have, buy a shell for an eg and save up some money until you can do the swap yourself... Or at least find a better deal, I'd stay away from this one.

 

well i also have the chance of getting a 97 cx with stock engine and complete si suspension.... my only hurdle is that damned stock engine. i cant really afford much and i need a swap!!

 

IMHO.. I wouldn't. I love 96-00 EJ's and 92-95 EH's, but in this case, I like yours.

 

you don't need a swap... If you must have another car just find one that's in good condition and get that then save for the swap. Seat time is way more valuble than a new engine in auto-x anyway. IMO I'd just look for the safest, most legitimate deal (unless this is gonna be a track car ONLY) and then go with that. If this is just a track car then throw out everything I just said b/c you'll be working on it all of the time anyway so it doesn't matter if it's a pos. But if you intend this to be your normal transport car + weekend warrior I'd find the most reliable thing you can, ignore the engine, and get some good seat time in before you decide you must have a enw engine.

 

it will be my daily driver/ weekend warrior. im almost siding with the cx hatch right now. something lighter will help me out alot! but it has more miles too. ahhh decisions on life=poop!

Keep yours,try to sell it/trade seomthing else for it.

 

throw some 99-00 si taillights on it and save up for the b18c1 and put it in your car

my answer for the trade is NEGATIVE dont do it,..he has probably been beating the **** out of that motor if he just got a street racing ticket

as for the CX,..im a 6th gen hatchback ***** (i have two of em) so i say go for that car,..you can always save up for a swap,..the CX looks really clean,..the color of my 96 hatch use to be roma red,..then i repainted it to gunmetal,..sometimes i miss the red ,..also see if you can keep your lip thats on your coupe,..i had that same lip on my 96 (before the 96-00 conversion) and i loved it

that CX looks clean dude.. id go for it.. and when you do get a swap it will be a mean mother.. especially since no ps or a/c..

I'm gonna say a big fat negatory on the b18c hatch. He wants to take way too much with him, and he's askin too much in the first place. Personally I would NEVER buy a swapped car that has over 100k on the motor, and if I did I would have been planning to freshen it up or re-swap anyway. As far as him beating on it, you have to expect that with any swapped car. The cx looks like a much more fair trade to me, it's a complete car.........anyway thats my .02, good luck with your hunting..........John

 

If you want a lightweight, sell your car, pick up a hatch/crx chassis for ~1k, toss in a motor.

I think the EK hatch weighs almost as much as your poupe anyways...right?
