Default ITS - Intake Question

I just got my trusty 2004 GCR and if I am reading the instructions correctly, than my Comptech Icebox is not legal. It looks as though I can have a filter on a stick, but nothing that creates a ram-air or fresh air intake that is not stock.

Can someone please clearify this before I sell my icebox. Thanks!

I'm not too familiar with the Comptech unit, but if I remember right, the air intake has to be from the stock location. So, no "ram air" effect or CAI.

I believe the Icebox draws air from where the stock location is........so I think it would be legal

Both the stock intake and the Icebox draw air from the RF inner fender area. I haven't seen the 2004 wording yet, if it's the same as 2003 (italics indicate changes) then you are fine.

Technically only the ITR draws air from the finder. All the other G3 Integras get air from the engine bay though a hole behind the ABS modulator.

As long as the airbox is either in the stock location or in the engine compartment, all of the headlights and marker lights are in place, and you haven't cut any ducting holes in the bodywork or frame, you are OK.
