Default Speedometer not working?

I have a 91 accord ex, my speedometer doesn't work and my sport light is flashing and the check engine light is on, whats going on with my car? Is it something easy to fix, or does a professional nees to look at it? Thanks.

90-91 accords have a sports shift...if you push the button to activate it, the transmission will shift at a higher/later rpm...rather than shifting as soon as possible...

With that in mind, I would think that the sports shift light is blinking because it can't get a reading from the speedometer (so it can determine when to shift)...

since your check engine light is on, there should be a code in the ECU...check with a haynes manual, pull the code out of the ECU, and that should tell you what's wrong
