What do you guys think, my buddy has been waiting on parts from this shop for like six months, I thought about have them do my motor but I decided not to. He says they are good guys and have just been busy but he has been waiting forever for his parts.

yea, he paid big dollars to RS to have them build a deck plate motor but has never been able to run the motor becasue he is missing a bunch of parts. Sounds messed up. If I spent the money he did I would expect quality service, not the run around. HE SAYS THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE BUT HE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR MORE THAN SIX MONTHS. personally I would be pissed. When a shop treats people like **** like that it says somthing about them.

RS is a good reptable shop
but because they have just moved to a new location they have been swamped with hundreds of motors and are laging it a bit. i was told my block would be done in a week and a half and its been 3 weeks and i dont think they even started on it yet

i too also had bad experances with RS. they can be very careless at time On my other motor they left a eybrow or a lil knick on the cylender sleeves and i did not find out untill i had the pistons and crank in. and on my lsvtec b16 head they fucked up on the dowls which really pissed me off because i had to rid apart the whole engine and take off the head again

but like i said they do good work at a good price but they can be careless at time probablt cuz they have so many motor to do

6 months is kind of a long wait. For having a supposedly good reputation i would expect them to be on TOP of things.

I couldn't agree more, recently he said when he calls the are always too busy to talk to him. Why is it once a shop has the money they but you on the bottom of the list. DO you guys have any reccomendations as to what he should do?? He has been dying to put his ride together...

Source the parts somewhere else. There are tons of people in this business, if one place is not getting it done, the competition will be glad to take up the slack.

thats funny because seth is my brother inlaw all thoses parts that he's been waiting for
from what im told, there giving him the run around, thats crazy to see this post and the
replys about this situation, and the parts have been paid for also,
i thought RS machines would be on the go about customer service and Seth has been
patient for too long IMO but what can he do? i feel bad because race season coming up and the parts that he needs to complete his crx are in there hands,
he calls them every single day his phone bill is racked calling long distance as much as he does, and to hear the parts will be shipped this friday and every friday since last june/ july of 03, i my self told him to call other shops or to take matters into his own hands, byway of legal action, i just hope this problem gets resolved soon...

i have advised him about legal action but its hard when your the only source of income and raising a child and taking care of his wife (my sister) at the same time
money is tight. i my self has hepled him finacaly but if taking legal action to solve
this problem is the only solution then getting kicked around and told every day
or when they feel like taking phone calls that your parts are on there way
waiting patiently for 6+ months hearings stories like parts got lost in shipping
shpping company screwed up, called a employee from rs reguarding parts
that were so called missing and told months later they found them from another
employee, the excuses are never ending i my self decidied to send my buisness
else were due this problem oh btw no parts today either...

Ive never had problems with RS at all and ive been dealing with them for years... When I drop offf something to have it done it gets done.... Theres plenty of reputable people that go to RS and I dont think theres been problems.... For the last few years its been more like I lag myself picking up the things that have been finished for me then them lagging on me... I knoe they moved and are still sorting all there stuff out and its tough when theres like a couple hundred people that just drop off blocks and lag on coming to pick it up it takes up space and they run out off room and it starts getting hard to keep track of things I suggest you giving John at RS a call and talk to him only about the matter cause hes the one that controls everything that comes in and leaves that shop no one else overthere talk to him and tell him im sure you guys can resolve the matter soon... good luck!

I think John can take care of the problem just give him a call. I kinda like RS too they always help me out and do good work just look at all the fast cars that run there blocks. When building a big custom motor like a deck plate one it takes time cant we all just get along.

my homie has a 90 mill prelude motor being build , it takes a while u must be patient , iff u rush them then u might see some flaws in the motor, let them take their time and **** will come out hard

my homie drooped of a compelte long block and a block and its been there for maybe 8 months and aint done , when u customize personal setups **** takes a while

hopefully his **** gets done soon, so we can test out the 300whp 90 mill h22a

WELL WELL WELL.......I see we have a few issues going on here....First of all his car was at DPR were it had been sitting for a few years they we went and picked it up to try and help him out....But i see it has bitten us in the behind.....ill be the first to say that it has been a long drawn out process.....we do hundreds of blocks a year...and for one or two mistakes to happen is verry good......we have a new quailty control program that we have implemented that will prevent any mistakes from happening...... Seth case is a case that i have been trying to rectify but for him to have people bad mouth my company in a open forum is not helping him at all......and to Ben ill be talking to you later...nice way to put down a shop that you bring your work to.....

i urge you all to excercise patience with RS. this company has been around for a while. many top racers utilize their blocks, and cylinder heads in professional competion. they have ben known to produce some stellar power plants, and have even had how to articles published backed by their great knowledge and expertise. i cant speak for seth, cause i dont know of his situation personaly, however RS machines is definately not in the business of "getting over" on customers. this simply is not good business. check out their work for yourself and make an infromed decision. thanks in advance for your comments to this reply. good luck on all of your projects!

i don't think seth have problem with quality of the work ..the problem he have is not getting his parts back.. he keep getting the run around like "your parts already been sent'oh i sent to the wrong address " "i have the parts here in front of me " the UPS guy stole it " one of my employee took it so i fired him" he invested a lot of money with DPR and RS ,now he got a car that's not even haft way finish .. patient?? he shipped the car since 1999 and it's 2004 now.

lets clarify.. granted he may have been working on his ride since 1999 (bumer), however, not with rs. lets just get that straight. bottom line, i hope he gets his ride sqaured away, and im a firm believer that jon and the gang will take care of him to tyhe best of their ability. again, i wish you guys good luck with your project. look forward to seeing it complete.
