ya another overheating thread
ok this is strange. my car started to overheat again after a month or 2 of being good . the thermostat is new oem from honda . the fan switch is new from autozone. the fan comes on and the lower hose is warm.
it doesnt do it when i get on it just when cruising slow or at idle. the radiator cap is a new spoon and i switched it with my mugen and it didnt help.
i cant tell if the coolant is being pushed into the overflow tank because of somthing , or if its getting hot and thermal expansion and contraction is causing the overflow tank to fill. could my radiator be bad? headgasket is a new .43 mls cometic headgasket and has arp headstuds . the only thing i can think of is the radiator , could this be causing it?? i dont want to spend hte money on a radiator if its not bad.
anything that could be causing this im open to anything

1. Open Radiator cap. 2. Start car. 3. Open nipple in between block and head. 4. let car run with the water/antifreeze pour out. 5. youll see bubbles but wait til you see a steady stream. 6. when you see the steady streem start to add water to the radiator. 7. Let it run through for like 15 mins. At least thats how i do it. (Sorry its all bunched together, my "enter" key desided to be a *** tonight.)

my D16 doesnt have that. your talkin about the bleeder screw.
i just went out there and the fluid is back in the radiator when it cooled down. what does this all mean?

That just means theres not alot of fluid in your block. Its a cycle, from your radiator to your block and back. If its filled then its back to the radiator. Yea a bleeder screw. I think D series have one, i know B series do.

I have the EXACT same problem. Greddy turbo D16Y8, just started doing it again.
Same symptoms as you, no loss of coolant, only happens when cruising / idle, boost has nothing to do with it so it's not the HG. I think I'm just going to change out the fan switch (OEM), thermostat and rad. cap (OEM) and OEM Honda premixed 50/50 coolant. I'm going to do a thorough flush, replace the above parts, and hope it goes away. If that doesn't do it, then I"ll do my water pump because it's old.

Fan switch maybe? Is your fan coming on when you overheat? Does your heater work? Check your cooling fan fuse.
