Another AEM CAI Question
Hi, I've been looking at this forum for a couple months now to just learn a little bit when i read the answers to other peoples questions, but after searching, my question is still unaswered. I have almost the entire CAI istalled and i'm at the second to last step (last step doesnt apply, not a 94-95 v-tec) and it says "The vacuum hose connected to the rear of the inlet manifold connecting the IAR system should be disconnected and replaced with the vacuum cap included with the kit"... I dont know which tube this is, and i also dont know what cap they mean because the only thing that could be considered a cap in the parts bag has the shape of a small black rifle bullet and i dont see how this could be used to "cap" anything. Thanks alot if you could offer some help because you probably know how i feel wanting to go test this thing out.

nm, I "wung it" and i think i put the cap in the right place and it worked so far. For anyone who wants to know where (in the future for people that search) there are 3 small(diameter wise) tubes that come out of the back right of the intake manifold. The top one has a cap on it and so does the bottom one. What I did is just followed the middle line till it was at the back-middle of the engine bay back by the windshield and pulled the rubber tube off from the metal tube and capped the metal tube.... works good so far, and from pictures from other model hondas, this is how they have done it.
ok.........i think ur talking about that thin hose that run to a "box" below the stock intake tubing???.....ur suposed to disconnect that hose at the fire wall (the vacume lines all the way over to the right wheel well, but there are smaller sectionf of piping......) and plug it using that nipple......i just stuck the plug on the end of the tube, and drapped the tube next to the crusie control module
a question about these, are they a good buy? I plan on buying one for my Accord, I've looked into them and all looks fine. But I want to be sure before I hand out $200 for one.
Is there any downside to one of these? Like will it get hurt in the rain, so forth?

there have been issues of water being pulled into the cold air intakes and locking up the engine...but i wouldnt let it turn you away. there are always the short ram intakes to consider.
thats called hydro locking....and unless u end up submergingur rift front end into 1foot + water, theres not much to worry about as long as u keep the spalsh guard on.......BTW id shy away from teh AEM V2.....no extra gain, and its +$50
