Default VAFC on a 5th generation prelude

According to what I have heard, the way the 5th gen prelude's computer works, after about a week or so, it compensates for whatever modifications you have made, in order for it to run more like stock. That being said, will it do the same thing for the VAFC?? If so, is there any way around it without buying a OBDI ecu, and getting a conversion harness?? Any help would be appreciated. I tried to search, but couldn't get anywhere. I might not be typing in the correct topic. Thanks again.
