lsvtec rev limit???
i have a stock ls with b16 head its all stock just wondering if any one else has this setup i mean not built up and what you take yours up too. I know its not good to take it past 6800 what the ls can handle but im just wondering what you all take yours up too. If it pops ohwell it was all free
Hmmmm, I can rev to 9,500, I have max power 199.3 and torque 140.4(which kinda sucks) at 9,250....With my valvetrain done, things are amazing..Here's my setup.
b18a block
GSR head
CTR Pistons
Jun 3 Cams
Portflow Valvetrain
AEM Fuel Rail
AEM Fuel Pressure Regulator
Hondata s100 standalone..
ITR intake mani. and throttle body
SMS Slip Fit Headers
SMS Test Pipe
Greddy Axle Back
Fluidyne Radiator for EK Chassis
Place Racing brace underneath the radiator
RC Engineering 370 cc injectors
Skunk 2 Cam Gears
Toda TIming Belt
B18C Crankshaft
You'll be more than satisfied when you spend this much time/money...
About the revving, for you I would take it up to about 6,8-9 like you said..until your valvetrain and high compression parts are installed, keep it there.

yeah this would be the safest bet but it's not what those rods can handle! they can handle 9k and up but if your scared of blowing stuff up then DONT DO IT! but if you dont care and like staying in a power band then do it! but please only do it when it's time to do it dont do it from stop light to stop light all day long! ( now there you can hurt some stuff)

Agree with this statement. Through in some ARP rod bolts and you can do 8grand no problem. And for the love....don't shift at 6800, you have atleast another 800 rpm of usable power up top.

there is always gonna be people saving that you cant rev high on a stock bottom end, I personally have been reving to 8500 using a P73 ecu most of the time
at least once a day through out the first 4 gears.
I Have put a hard 30k on my motor with out no major problems
it all depends on who puts ur motor together
the motor is only as good as the person who put it together

I have a stock B18b block and PR3 head. I take mine up to 8000 RPM's. I have been driving on this setup for over a year, daily driving 65 miles a day. Beat on it once in a while, but not on a daily basis. On a daily basis I shift at 3500-4500 depending if I need to merge into traffic. The only time I get on it is at an autocross. I have a B16 tranny.

Obviously the place you checked was wrong. B16 cams fall off around 7500. Couple that with a stock bottom end with not a lot of compression....like I said, 7200-7500rpm with that set up.
