You have to modify the bulb to fit the housing too.

i did a 9005 conversion, where i just used a 9005 socket to replace the 9006 socket...so i can use 9005 bulbs instead of having to modify the 9006 bulb, afterji did the conversion, i plugged the 9005 into the new 9005 socket and tried to twist the bulb to secure itself into the headlight housing...it doesnt fit at all so i guess i'd have to modify the bulb as well??

By using the 9005 harness, you don't have to remove the 3 tabs inside the bulb. However, you still need to remove th 3mm from the plastic on the exterior of the bulb.
