Hello, I've got a JDM ITR header on my B18A1, I've got a ITR head on it. I installed a JDM ITR header and come to find out the header is making contact with my oil pan where the oil pan slopes down, vibration is pretty bad. Are there any oil pans that will clear the header? A honda or aftermarket oil pan? Any suggestions? Vibration doesn't really bother me, my main concern is possibly damaging the engine from hot oil. Will it damage engine? Can I just dent the oil pan with a ball peen hammer or something? Would a JDM ITR oil pan bolt to the B18A block?

I've always been under the impression that the JDM ITR header should clear the b18a oil pan without any problems. I sure as hell hope it does, I picked one up yesterday for my all motor LS.

 

just stufff some header wrap on it... duh

 

it cant be hitting by much so i say dent it in.

 

Anyone have ideas to this problem? As I might find myself in the same shoes soon.

 

I fixed it. I dented in the area with a hammer, i cleaned and repainted the oilpan so it looks clean, now I have about 1/2" clearance. I was careful not to dent in the area close to the oil pickup (dented it in with pan off).

Come to find out later, I was told that the LS and GSR oil pans are different from B16 and ITR oil pans. Any truth to this? If so, that is why my LS oil pan was against my header.

 

the itr oil pan will clear the header, but I am pretty sure with the oil pan, you will also have to get the oil pickup, and windage tray. If your going to buy all that, I would just also get the type r girdle as well. It will cost around 300-350 dollars to do this. I purchased everything from Len. gave me a great price also!!!

All this time I was being told that my LS oil pan was the same as all other honda oil pans.
