Default POLL: What is the best suspension setup for a bargain price?

This setup is for a stock 2000 GS. the budget to spend is less than $500. What kind of spring/shock/strut combination is the best? So far I've heard that ITR Spring/Strut is by far better than Eibach and H&R kits. There are also other question regarding different lines of product in a same brand... ie in Eibach is Sportline better or Pro-kit?
I might also be interest in coilovers if the price is right.

PLEASE ENTHER THE CHOICES YOU THINK IS THE MOST PERFECT FOR TOP-END HANDLING PERFOMANCE

How much of a drop do you want? With a drop like the H&R Sports, you'll most likely need a camber kit, which will require you to spend more $$$...

Eibach Sportline: 1.8", Pro-Kit: 1.3"

Integ Grl is right. Ride height is all up to you, but the lower you go, the better chance you'll need a camber kit. I have H&R OE's with Tokico HP's. Why? I drive my GS-R in the winter (1" drop is plenty), and at the time I did not need to make adjustments to my shocks, plus no need for camber kit. Body roll is reduced and it stiffened up my ride..... the two most important things for me.

Ideal setup for me would be a good coilover (GC, H&R, Tien, etc) with an adjustable shock. Look into (or do a search here on) Bilstien shocks too, although I'm not familiar with the models, I hear good things.

Definately H&R springs but not KYB shocks. Tokico Illuminas maybe but I prefer Koni yellows. Shox.com has some of the best prices around with free shipping on koni shocks. I called yesterday and I think they were $525 or something like that.

I would say the KYB AGX's are a better thock for the H&R's than the Illuminas would be. Koni yellows better than both.

I have the Eibach Pro-kit with OEM shocks and the ride is great for the street, it handles amazing and the ride isn't rough. I recommend that you get a ITR sway bar, because it will make a big difference compared to the 14mm GS-R's.

I'm happy with my setup, but in total it was >$1500 and that was with ME doing the labor.

I'm assuming that you have tires already

That should be the FIRST thing to get. For $500, assuming you do the labor, you could get KYBs or Bilsteins and some good springs. By all means, get some shocks! With the H&R OE's, mine have some dead coils that clunk together and that's kind of annoying. If you want a .75" drop, go for ITR springs.

Thank you all ladies and gents for the feedbacks,

I don't know much about suspension setup since I pretty much devoted my time to squeeze out power. If the price is right, I'll definetly go for H&R Sport / Koni Yellow setup. But then....if price is a concern, AGX it will be.
New tires to replace the oem Michellins will be BS RE730 with...maybe Rota Slipstream 16"
Question for you guys with H&R....how much of a drop is it? I don't wanna go any lower than neccesary, I think 1" will be good enough.
And I've heard that ITR swaybars will pull a hole underneath non-R Integras....and there are some kits of bushings that may help out the problem? If so, where can I find such a kit or simply go with Comptechs? I can donate my spring and swaybar to the GS if I can ever find money to get a Tein Spring and Mugen 26mm Swaybar for my own car. I have 10,000 miles on my ITR springs with frequent AutoX and several track days....how long will it last? Worth the trouble of putting them on the GS?
So......will ITR springs better to be with KYB or Koni?

The Type-R rear swaybar needs to be properly mounted to subframe on non-Type-R Integras to prevent subframe damage. I sell a mounting kit which properly mounts the Type-R rear swaybar, it costs $20 shipped. You can go to http://www.geocities.com/bretq/mounting_kit.html for further information on my BSQ mounting kit. You can go to http://www.geocities.com/bretq/swaybar_install.html for installation instructions for installing the Type-R rear swaybar.

The total cost the the Type-R rear swaybar, misc. parts and mounting kit will cost approx. $120. For comparision the Comptech rear swaybar cost $270. Both swaybars are 22mm. Also the Comptech swaybar is harder to install.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, because aftermarket springs and shocks will cost between $450 - $800. Don't forget that you will need the Type-R lower control arms (LCA) if you decide to go with the Type-R springs and shocks. The LCAs cost around $60 - $100 for both.
