I need to know the compression of my motor before I send it in the machine shop.......... I have a 97 GSR block and a ITR head shaved 0.30 thou. I want to put either PR3 pistons or P30's I think the P30's will be too much but could you please give me both compressions??? Thanks alot guys Rob

Milling the head made your combustion chambers smaller. So you have to subtract an amount from that value in the calculator. The value is found like this

Take the stock combustion chamber volume of 42.7 cc. You milled 30 thou, or .076 cm. The volume you removed then is .076 * bore (cm) * bore (cm) * Pi/4 = 3.92 cc.

So your combustion chamber volume is 42.7 - 3.92 = 38.78.

And because I'm bored, with the PR3 piston that puts you at 12.1:1 and with the P30 that puts you at 12.4:1.

Edit: this is all assuming you meant 30 thou and not .30 like you typed.

12.1:1 is not too bad. On 94 octane there should be no problem as long as it's tuned well.
