Default Anyone running AEM with their supercharger?

My buddy installed the Vortech with aftercooler last year on his S2000. Just recently the car started hesistating around 8k. He brought it to me and we checked plugs, ignition, etc, everything looks good but we're still experiencing a misfire. He's been bugging me about uppin the boost along with a few other things so I was thinking this might be a good time to get some real engine management and injectors in there. Anyone running AEM with their Vortech setup? What kind of results have you had? Any help or information is greatly appreciated. Thanks fellas.

yes, Sideways on this board is running the EMS, with a ported head/larger exhuast valves and was making 360whp running the stock injectors (max'd out) without upping the fuel pressure to insane pressures. Since then, he's gotten larger injectors and I wouldn't be surprised to see over 400whp. The EMS helped make this happen. Remember, it's most useful when you have a good tuner that can tune it.

Thanks for the reply! We plan on having Payn tune it and they've got plenty of AEM experience there. Just wondering if there is any other EMS available for the S2000 besides AEM? I did some research and couldn't find anything.... Maybe Sideways will chime in

I think AEM is pretty much it. I know Hondata doesnt make a system for the S, and those are the two leaders in standalones. Pretty much anyone running high hp figures on s2ki.com is running the AEM system. Infact, if you plan to get it, wait for a group buy over there and save yourself a few bucks.

I'm Guilty. The AEM EMS allows analysis of the fuel/timing/knock/O2/EGT/etc. While analyzing the fuel we noticed the injectors running out of fuel (max duty cycle) at about 8000 rpm or about 320 hp.

I suggest the AEM EMS, greater capacity injectors (check out the new high impedance RC 650s and 750s made for the S2000) and a good tune prior to uping the boost. I expect to see 400+ hp with pump gas and 7 lbs of boost by adding the new RC 750s and an aftermarket exhaust. With 9-10 lbs of boost and 100 octane fuel maybe __________ (you fill in the blank) HP. Have your friend do it right the first time and get an AEM EMS with Church Automotive tuning it.

Thanks fellas We're gonna up the boost, install the AEM, replace the injectors, then take it to Payn to be tuned. Look forward to seeing your #'s on race gas Sideways

you're other options wouldn't be plug and play, ie Motec that would require replacing all the engine sensors with their sensors, new engine harness and a lot of headaches.

I'd really like to stick with the factory harness so we can avoid some of the "headaches". Can't wait to get this shiz going. Curious........what size are the factory injectors?
