Default how to modify z6 dist to make it work with the a6 ecu (pm6)

modify z6 distributor to fit a6 ecu (pm6) (Post #1)

hi guys,

i have a question about the write-up from hybrid concerning the sohc vtec swap.

"For Si/DX option 1, you can wire the SOHC VTEC distributor to the old wiring harness, and retain the ability to advance and retard the timing at the distributor. Or you can use a drill to make the 88-91 distributor fit the 92-95 motor, and probably lose the ability to adjust the timing."

how do you modify the distributor so that it will work with the 88-91 dx harness and 88-91 si ecu? i know that with the mpfi swap the dx will be converted to si harness, but what about the z6 distributor? will it work with the a6 ecu?

by the way, this is my setup.

currently i have the d15b2 engine.
my parts right now: z6 head, a6 block, pm6 ecu, z6 distributor, d15b2 engine harness, zc tranny, 90-93 integra axles,

1. convert to mpfi
2. modify z6 distributo to fit pm6 ecu and si harness
3. install everything

pls let me know if i miss something. thanks in advance. i know that the information will be also useful to others.

chris

Yeah, the Z6 distributor will not work with any OBD0 ecu. Just curious about the use of 90-93 teg axles. What about the intermediate shaft? The D15B2 block isn't made for a intermediate shaft. You should just use Civic axles.
