Question about trailer flooring options ?
Where can you purchase the checkerboard tiles that people put on their trailer floors? And what material do you all recomend?
My trailer still has the unfinished wood particle board and I need to cover it. I looked at some vinyl sheets with checkerboard pattern but am concerned it would not hold up well.
Also wondering if the make a pourable sealer that can just be poured over the wood to seal it. Something other than just plain paint.
I thought about aluminum but when it comes to my trailer I am cheapskate (those who have seen my trailer know what I am talking about).
I'd rather spend money on my race cars.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Jon P. Kofod

try griots garage, i know they sell the paneling you're talking about for garage floors, you might be able to use that for your trailer.
Any home improvement center will have the black & white vinyl floor covering with adhesive backing. Another option is Rhino Lining or Line-X. A friend of mine had his truck bed and the inside of his 22' enclosed trailer done at the same time to save a few bucks. The trailer floor turned out really nice. It's not slippery when it gets wet, and it's still easy to sweep out.

There's stuff made by Race-dek for paneling the garage floors, might be the same stuff.

That's what I said the first time I saw it. Looks very nice. They even carried it up the side walls about 3-4" off the floor.

I was going to Line-X my trailer before deciding on the Al diamond plate. I have it on my truck & think it is superior to the Rhino. The local Line-X guy quoted my $3k!

What would diamond plate on a 20 foot trailer run?

IIRC, I spent less than $900 for .095 plate for my 26' trailer plus the whole ramp door. If I were to do it again, I am sure it would be less. I made the mistake of having all the lengths sheared which cost extra $$s. I tried to get away without removing the al angle trim between the walls & the floor. Dumb, I know but I didn't know better. If you do it, remove the trim & place the plate down. Once you have everything screwed & glued, put the trim back into place. Shoot, even buying new trim would be cheaper than having the stuff sheared.

That's crazy. I think Mark had his truck and trailer done at the same time for $1100'ish.
