where should I begin?
Ok, I drive a auto civic which I don't plan on moding.
I plan to get a hatch later. I will be buying everything on my own. I will be moving to S.F. this summer.
So far this is what is going through my head...
looking for hatch (vx/dx/cx)
looking for a DOHC swap
daily driver
going N/A
no internal work
state legal
dont want somebody else leftover project
goal is to reach low 13s in 1/4. (considering that I have decent driving)
so the question is with decent driving should I go GSR or Type R? I don't wanna go B16 cuz always hear people regretting it. The reason why I post this is so I can start some in depth research. I only know the basics so far.
I have about $3200 saved up. Before I leave I will have about $4500. I will have a part time job up there. Just info about my budget.

Type R... Always the way to go. It cost alot more than the gsr swap, but it also comes with LSD, Final drive, a better intake manifold, and jdm 4-1 headers. Also your gonna end up buying parts for the gsr swap that the type r engine already comes with. Most of my friends with type r hatches eg's hit 13's on there first runs with the engine in the car. I just believe that the type r is a better platform than the gsr. I'll bet that if you end up going with the gsr swap your gonna be running mid to low 14's all day long. But if you wanna be a bad *** go H22
Tom is quite inspirational
I plan on other mods such as skunk stage 1 cams, bolt ons, chipped ECU.
h22 sounds great but I have no idea on what kind of suspension to go with.
EDIT: As of now, I just want a simple swap with bolt ons but I also want something that I can modify later.
