tranny swap or cams/valve springs?
im trying to decide weather to swap my gsr tranny out for an ITR or to keep the tranny and get CTR cams and some sort of dual valve springs. i can do either for roughly the same cost(after selling my gsr tranny for the first one).
my car is a 93 hatch with a c1 motor( i/skunk mani/h/tp/e/hdss/prolite/) i autox and will be doing some lapping days. im quite happy with the current suspension/tires and brakes so please dont suggest working on those.
thanks for any input.

with the limited info you've given, i'll assume you are running in SM for autocross and that you've spent the money on real race tires/suspension. provided all that is true, i'd go with the tranny. the general rule of thumb is roughly .5-1.0 second improvement per 60 seconds on course when you add an lsd. the cams and valvesprings might find you going slower since you'll be more likely to spin the tires or out of the powerband more frequently.
if the previous assumptions are incorrect and you're running on street tires and cushy suspension, i'd highly recommend spending money on a) the driver, b) tires, c) suspension. in that order. i know that isn't what you wanted to hear, but if going fast(er) is your goal, and you are trying to do it on a budget, ya gotta spend the money where it counts.
in either case, spending money on driver improvement will usually be the most cost effective way of going faster.

well, my car is actually in d-mod since i have no interior whatsoever. im not real concerned with being nationally competitive or anything. in my region there are very few cars that are in my class and i should have no problem being competitive with them.
im very happy with my suspension set up. im using adjustable ride height bilstien struts with 375f springs and 475r and ST swaybars.
after some thinking, the tranny seems to be by far the better option. lsd and shorter gearing.
thanks for the input.
