Will a B16a2 go into a crx 92
Hi just wanted to know if a B16a2 from a civic 93 hatch EG6 will go straight into a 92 crx vtec which i think is a EE8 chassis
i have civic hatch 93 with a b16a2 engine which is sweet, BUT the entire chassis is falling apart. i have found a crx 92 vtec with a good chassis put the pratt who had it before went over a speed ramp to fast and ripped the oil sump off and destoyed the engine.
Will my civic b16a2 engine and gearbox go into the crx chassis straight forward or will it be hassle? The gearbox on the crx is good but not as sweet as my civic one, so i would like to change that over aswell.
The Uk weather is S**T and soon enough my car will have rusted away leaving only my engine and gearbox!!!!!!!!!
Hope someone can help.
The 92 CRX is the same as our USDM 91 CRX, correct? If so, you'll need a few extra things to put your B series in; new engine mounts (or relocate the stock ones), new shift linkage (or fabricate one using the stock linkage), new axles (you might be able to use the ones you're currently using with the B16).
Also, is your transmission in the CRX cable or hydraulic? In the US we swtiched to hydraulic in 1992 but we don't have a 1992 CRX so I'm not sure what yours is.
Do you know if the 92 CRX is OBD0 or OBDI? I don't know much about European Hondas.

NO the EE8 comes stock with a B16 all you have to do is a obd1 conversion, or you can just take the harness off the old engine and put it on the new one, along with the obdo sensors, dizzy and such.

So they look like our US CRX but they come stock with a B16? I hate the US.
What about the transmission? Is the 92 CRX a hydraulic transmission?

I guess you guys didn't look where he's from or listen that it is a civic Vtec, which means it already has a b16 in it!! why would he need mounts for a car that already has a b16. Im new on this site, but I don't post on anything that I don't know about and mess with someone's head.
I would keep the CRX "gearbox" because it will have cable clutch actuation, you'll only have to do the OBD I conversion as stated above, should be able to find lots on info on this. The reason some people are telling you that you need mounts is because we never got a b16 in our CRX so we have to use mounts here in the U.S.

Thanks for the feedback, helps alot!!!
i thought the engine you get in the crx vtec was a B16a1 and the engine i have in the civic is B16a2, is this going pose a problem with mounting?
The gearbox on the crx is very loose, is this just the gear linkage or could it be the box? It goes in gear ok, but the feel of the gear stick movement is not as good as the civics. I am thinking it might be an idea just to stick with the crx tranny to save hassle.
well under the hood on the crx their is no clutch fluid chamber as their is in my civic. so i am assuming its got a cable clutch. Dont really know much on crx's just on civcs. heard that the crx will kill the civic on handling? is this true?

If the crx b16 is still in the car, or you still have the engine, do this. Take the b16a2, take off the harness, tranny, distributor, and manifolds, and switch them. Keep the crx obdo, and just use the b16a2 engine with the b16a1 parts. Easy swap. Now if you dont have the engine, then convert to obd1. Ryan
PS, cange your shifter bushings to polyurethane, it should help the stick shift feel.

Do you know if the crx vtec 92 comes with anti locking brakes?
