SOmebody: check auto tranny while HOT or COLD
just need to know in case i overfilled my 97 automatic... Put in about 2.5 quarts instead of 2.9 quarts but we all know that when we drain not all of fluid gets out.
So, checking tranny fluid in neutral in HOT or COLD? somebody take 1 sec and tell me.

Are you serious?? I remember my manuals for my chevy lumina, ford ranger, and chevy camaro said check while RUNNING and HOT.
Alright, you were right, for auto tranny, helms says check when vehicle is at normal operating temperature.. ie cooling fan comes on.
check the tranny dip stick..you can tell if you have enough fluid in there...
on my friends auto dx tranny the dip stick is located on the back of the tranny...
