Default Question to fellow del sol owners w/ an exhaust.

Hey whats up everyone? so heres my question. i just installed a catback on my sol. a greddy sp2 to be exact. now it sounds fine and i checked it for leaks today and it all good. now inside of my car its ****** loud. youd think i had an apexi n1 if i took you for a ride. is this a common prob for sols to be loud with an exhaust inside of the car? the exhaust itself isnt loud though like outside of the car. i dunno why its so loud. anyone may post their thoughts here but especially solers w/ exahust.

My girl friends Delsol has the Greddy SP, and it's fairly lound on the inside but quite nice on the out side.
My HB is no were near as lound as the Delsol.

i have a tanabe super race...well when i bought it they did not make them for the sol so i hacked like 9 inches ot of it to make it fit...its louder than any other honda around me out side and the only thing that is louder inside is my buddys 240 with the sr20det swap

its like that for all sols due to it being smaller inside.

well compared to hatchbacks, integras, etc... it is going to be louder than them. smaller inside and less interior to block sound. i dont think there's a way to get around this.

The problem is the trunk. If you take a minute to think about it the trunk i s a big tin box. The exhaust muffler at the back is a speaker! So what you have in effect is a sub box and a very loud speaker.

What you need to do is dynamat, or something like it, your trunk. Most of all you need to do the underside of the trunk lid.

Good luck,
Graham
