Default Is it ok to run the type R hondata with stock internals?

i got a type S with only a SRI and exhaust
i plan on gettin a race header but i know i'll run lean with that and hondata 4
so since the type R ecu is tuned for a race header could i get that instead of
hondata 4 but i dont have and type R internals, would that be bad for my engine even though i dont rev over say.. 8500, also what kinda of gains could i see from that? thanx in advance

I think its fine as long as you don't torture your engine

so what about the gains, can i still expect the same results as if i got hondata 4?
would i run either rich or lean with the ITR ecu but no header, i plan on gettin 1 in the future though

You'd probably run really rich since the k20a tune is designed for the k20a cams, IM, and a header. Either just get hondata #4 first, or save your money and get the cams and reflash at the same time. You'll probably lose power if you run hondata k20a tune with stock cams. This is like the 30th thread on this subject between here and CRSX. Why would anyone want to run a tune designed for a set of cams that they don't have?

because the ITR ecu is also programmed for a race header, with that ecu and a race header u wont get a CEL or run really rich.

umm dood, there's only 1 person that said they were running lean w/ RH and #4. like 20 other ppl have RH's but when 1 person posts "i'm running lean" then it's like every person that installs a race header is suddenly running lean.
