Fuck, why do 88 seats have to be different.
I really need a driver seat, just so I can freaking drive the car. I cant find an 88 seat with sliders, bracket already on there. I bought an 89 crx si seat and it didnt fit. Im so pissed. Where should I look?
Get an 88 si passenger seat.
They are cheap and in good condition usually and bolt right in.
Only downside is the tilt adjustment is neer the ebrake instead of the door

You can remove the bottom metal part of the seat and swap it over from an 88 seat to an 89. Or atleast they seem to think so, no clue if it can be done.
not trying to be a dick but..88 seats are shaped just like seats in every other country...you can swap in JDM, EDM, canadian seats from 88-91, but the people in the US with 89-91 can only use those seats...
you are lucky to have an 88...stop your bitching...

It can be done. I have personally done this to 3 sets of seats. Just replace the metal clips that hold the fabric to the can with heavy duty wire ties.

I'm pretty sure you cannot swap Civic/Crx seats any year.
crx has to go into crx, civic into civic (unless u do custom work)
I believe it's a different in cross members due to length differences of the cars.

Just try to swap over the sliders from your 88seats to the 89 seats that you just got. I did it with my eg seats and prelude seats. You might have to cut a little though, its not that bad. You might have to get a dremel and drill or sand down the bolts that hold on the sliders. Its not that bad just a little time consuming. I'm going to be doing the same thing with my 90 si seats into my 88 std model that I just bought.
Like crxtreme89h said. swapping the seat pans can be done. I used 89 si seats in my 91, because the rails weren't the same. It took me close to 3 hrs because it was my first time, but if I had to do it again, I would give it about an hour for both seats. It is very easy.

Ya I know. Cept allot of asspackers said it could be done.
I tired every suggestion. Without some mad custom work, its impossible.

I've swapped 88-91 Civic HB and Sedan seats into a CRX by swapping the lower buckets/pans(better word?). Same process. What problems did you run into? The rails are definitely different.

Ok then you know something I dont. The pans cant be swapped...well not the ones I have I guess. Cause the joint for the seat back is wider on the crx seats....by like 2-3 inches. So the crx seat back wont connect to the dx floor pan.
ha, I threw out my 88 dx seats along w/my junk si hatch
I've thrown away quite a bit of stuff and regret. Stupid ma, saying that we can't keep all that junk.
